On June 22, 2025, the school grounds of Killarney Heights Public School came alive with rhythm and song for World Music Day, or Fête de la Musique - a French tradition celebrating the universal language of music. Organised by FANS (Friends & Families of KHPS), the event united local families, students, and music lovers for an evening of live performances, food, and community spirit. Booth Me Up was thrilled to be part of the celebration, bringing an open-air photo booth to capture the day's smiles, laughter, and connection.
Originating in France in 1982, Fête de la Musique (World Music Day) is an annual music celebration held around the summer solstice, where musicians and citizens fill the streets and parks with song. What started in Paris - initiated by French Minister of Culture Jack Lang and composer Maurice Fleuret - has grown into a global phenomenon celebrated in over 120 countries.
This year, FANS brought that same energy to the Northern Beaches, transforming the Killarney Heights school grounds into a lively outdoor concert space where everyone could join the rhythm.
The photo booth captured over 200 guests across the evening - families posing with instruments, kids dancing, and performers celebrating on stage. Beyond entertainment, the activation added visual value to FANS’ online and social channels, helping promote their ongoing community events.
As the sun set over the Northern Beaches, one thing was clear: music and laughter truly bring people together. Booth Me Up was proud to help create — and preserve — those moments.
